Beautiful large oval Napoleon III style reliquary frame with domed glass with human hair decoration.
It also holds a stunning wedding crown made of wax orange blossom and flowers.
The groom's floral accessory that was pinned to his wedding jacket is in the centre of the frame. Some flowers made of his hair and a pansy were added to it after he passed away. Souvenir O. Chappuis ( the first name is illegible) is written on a small piece of paper underneath. The flowers are not perfect and some hair is loose at one end.
The white paper is stained and has some dust as can be seen in the photographs but the composition is in good condition considering its age. Some orange blossoms are detached.
The wooden frame shows signs of age with marks and imperfections. Glass has marks inside.
Backing paper is almost completely gone. Strong loop at the back so it can be hung on the wall.
It is a truly lovely piece. It is the first time I have a frame with both wedding flowers and hair ones.
