Rare French antique set of 7 antique plates about the funeral of Napoleon.
Marked Gien porcelain underneath.
Mid to late 1800s.

They depict:
- Plate n°4: 'La chapelle ardente de Napoléon dans la frégate de la belle poule. Decembre 1840'. That is the chapel in the military vessel La belle poule where the ashes of Napoleon were placed to travel back to France after his death.
- Plate n°6: 'L'arrivée des restes mortels de Napoléon à Rouen. 13 Décembre 1840'. The arrival of Napoleon's remains in Rouen in December 1840.
Two chips.
- Plate n°8: 'Entrée du convoi de Napoléon à Paris. 13 décembre 1840'. Entry of Napoleon's convoy in Paris
- Plate n°9: 'Char funèbre de Napoléon dans les Champs Elysées à Paris. 15 décembre 1840'. Napoleon's funeral chariot on the Champs Elysees in Paris.
One large chip.
- Plate n°10: 'Cheval de bataille de Napoléon à Paris. 15 decembre 1840'. His battle horse in Paris.

- Plate n°11: 'Bateau catafalque de Napoléon. Seine et oise. Decembre 1840'. Napoleon's catafalque ship.
- Plate n°12: 'Catafalque de Napoléon aux Invalides'. Catafalque in the Invalides in Paris.
One large crack.

The large damages are mentionned above for each plate. They all have marks, scratches and signs of use as can be seen in the photographs. Some discolouration and natural imperfections too.

DELIVERIES

- Import taxes and duty are the buyer's responsibility.
'Sales tax' is for US customers only.

- For US CUSTOMERS: the new tariff is added at the checkout under the name 'Sales tax'. IF YOU ARE BUYING AS A RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION, MESSAGE ME AS YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE TO PAY IT.
Everything will be shipped with an invoice and the proper HS custom number but I can't guarantee US customs won't change the tariff.

- I aim to post everything in 3 working days. Everything is sent with a tracking number.
Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- I will only ship to the address provided during checkout. I won't post to an address sent in a separate message after a purchase.

- A part of the shipping price includes recycling taxes and packaging material.
Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- If there is anything you are unsure about or if you need further information about an item to re-assure you please ask before buying. I aim to provide as much information as possible and make my listings as accurate as I can.

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.

- Refunds will be issued when I get the item back.
