Antique French Sacred Heart of Jesus statue made of painted plaster. 
First half of the 20th century.
The face of Jesus and his clothes are beautifully detailed. 
The colours are very vibrant. The brush strokes are visible and there are gold details that have faded in places. Some stains and discolouration from age. It all gives a beautiful patina!
Several small chips. 
The shine is gone in places because the statue must have been on display for a long time. Some dust is still visible in small places and folds.
'France' is engraved at the back of the base and 'Voilà ce coeur qui vous a tant aimé' which translates as 'This is the heart that loved you so much' at the front.
