Beautifully patinated Virgin Mary in prayers polychrome plaster statue.
First half of the 20th century.
The Virgin Mary is represented with a crown of roses and a long blue mantle. She is stepping on the serpent holding an apple.
The statue was signed on the base but it is now impossible to read the name. I can only guess a few letters.
The statue must have been on display for a very long time. It was covered with a thick layer of dust when I found it. I have done a gentle cleaning as the layer of paint is fragile. Some dust is still incrusted in the paint so the statue has discoloured and the colours are not as vibrant as they once were. 
There are also some stains all over the statue but they are more visible on the veil and hands. 
The gold paint used on the mantle, robe and crown has completely discoloured and corroded. 
The paint has flaked and is worn in places.
There are some chips. A larger broken piece is visible at the back of the base.
The paint has cracked on the face of Mary but it is very clean compared to the rest of the statue.
It is a fantastic representation of Mary with a lovely patina!

Everything will be shipped with an invoice and the proper HS custom number but I can't guarantee US customs won't change the tariff.

- I aim to post everything in 3 working days. Everything is sent with a tracking number.
Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- I will only ship to the address provided during checkout. I won't post to an address sent in a separate message after a purchase.

- A part of the shipping price includes recycling taxes and packaging material.
Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- If there is anything you are unsure about or if you need further information about an item to re-assure you please ask before buying. I aim to provide as much information as possible and make my listings as accurate as I can.

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.

- Refunds will be issued when I get the item back.
