Beautiful and large antique depiction of Jesus on the cross in an oval frame with domed glass.
The large Corpus Christi seems to be made of limestone or calcareous stone and is attached to a black painted wooden cross. The crucifix is on a dark blue velvet background.
The Corpus has discoloured with time. There is a fine crack on the hand on the right.
The blue velvet has dark stains, fade and slight discolouration as seen in a close-up photograph.
The black painted frame is made of three different pieces of wood and lines are visible. There is sometimes a small gap between the pieces.
The wood has some scratches, scuffing, stains and imperfections. The shine is gone in large places and the black has faded. The paint is very worn and missing on some edges.
Several insect holes but the insects are long gone.
The glass has some marks and deep scratches. There are some dust particles and marks visible inside. Imperfections in the glass.
The paper backing was apparently replaced several times and is completely torn.
There is a loop at the back so it's ready to be hung on the wall. The loop is a bit rusty.
Some nails have been replaced at the back to secure the central part to the frame. Several rusty nails are still in place. The central part is higher than the frame at the back.
A lovely piece for a home altar!

Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.
