Large antique wooden altar crucifix from France. 
The Corpus Christi is in metal. 
The wood cross has a circle of carved vine leaves as an aureole. The vine reaches down to the base. 
The crucifix was originally meant to hang on the wall and still has a loop at the back. 
At some point the base was added and attached with a bar and three screws at the back.
The Corpus Christi has gained some patina over time. It was once painted but the colour has faded and it is now very uneven.
Parts of the intricate vine decoration have snapped off, notably to the lower right of the crucifix at the same level as Jesus' feet and some of the leaf work top left. In both cases, the damage has been varnished over cleanly so it is not obvious straight away. 
The wood has scratches, stains and marks commensurate with age.

The varnish is gone in places because of the dust as the crucifix was left on display for a long time.
It is a stunning and very unique piece despite its flaws!

- For US CUSTOMERS: the new tariff is added at the checkout under the name 'Sales tax'. IF YOU ARE BUYING AS A RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION, MESSAGE ME AS YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE TO PAY IT.
Everything will be shipped with an invoice and the proper HS custom number but I can't guarantee US customs won't change the tariff.

- I aim to post everything in 3 working days. Everything is sent with a tracking number.
Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- I will only ship to the address provided during checkout. I won't post to an address sent in a separate message after a purchase.

- A part of the shipping price includes recycling taxes and packaging material.
Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- If there is anything you are unsure about or if you need further information about an item to re-assure you please ask before buying. I aim to provide as much information as possible and make my listings as accurate as I can.

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.

- Refunds will be issued when I get the item back.
