French antique wood and ormolu altar crucifix with a bisque Corpus Christi.

The cross and its base are made of wood covered with gesso and gold paint.
The gold has lost its shine as it looks like the cross was left exposed to dust for a long time.
The gesso and paint are cracking and flaking in places. It has faded in other parts.

Ormolu decorations were also painted gold and have tarnished.
The colour is gone in several little areas.
Slightly distorted in places. It bends very easily so can be put back in place. If done too often it will break though.

The Corpus Christi and INRI sign are made of bisque.
The INRI sign moves around the nail.
They are stained especially at the back and on the sides of Jesus.
The three nails seem to be different. The most recent one is a bit too short and comes off easily. It might need to be replaced.

30.1 x 12 cm / 11.85 x 4.72 inches
