Antique portrait of the Infant St John the Baptist in an oval frame with shell Holy water font.
Carved in calcareous stone or meerschaum.
Late 19th Century.
The frame has some small holes, imperfections and scratches.  Some dust has come under the glass.
The paper backing is missing as is very frequent with that type of frames but the shop label is still partly visible.
The portrait is held by rusty nails.
Signs of age and use on the font as well.
Rust on the metal part attaching the font to the frame.
There is a loop at the back but it needs to be replaced as one nail is missing.
Total size: 20 x 14 cm / 7.87 x 5.51 inches
Meerschaum  approx. 10.2 x 7.6 cm / 3.93 x 2.75 inches
The pictures are part of the description.
