French antique set of 8 plates depicting one year in the life of Joan of Arc.
Manufactured by Longwy, in the East of France as marked underneath.
Early 20th century.
They might have been part of a larger set. I have number 1 to 8.
All texts are in French but here are the translations.
Plate 1: Joan in Domremy hears the voices who tell her to save France (1428)
Plate 2: she wants to find the Count de Baudricourt, who calls her a visionary (1429)
Plate 3: Joan succeeds in convincing the Count, who offers her a sword to deliver France (1429)
Plate 4: Joan, in Chinon, regognizes the King despite his disguise (1429)
Plate 5: Joan enters in Orleans under siege from the English (1429)
Plate 6: Joan is injured forcing the English to lift the siege of Orléans
Plate 7: Joan of Arc routs the English at the Battle of Patay
Plate 8: Joan of Arc has Charles VII crowned in Reims and considers her mission complete (1429)

The plates have been heavily used and there are scratches and stains.
Imperfections in the transfers and the original colouring.
The borders are not all the same shade of green.
Some illustrations have faded and discoloured. The white background has discoloured to a  light brown or yellow shade in places.
Some wear in the glazing on some plates.
Small chips, crackling and imperfections.
Diameter: 20.6 cm / 7.87 inches

The pictures are part of the description.
