A very unusual and stunning find! 
This is a framed bas relief depicting The Parable of the Ten Virgins (five wise and five foolish) - Saint Matthew (25, 1-13).
Relief in metal with copper patina  by F. Lavastre (signature at the front and back).
A sheet of paper at the back with the parable hand written in French.  It has some marks.
Inspired by Johann Friedrich Overbeck's work. 
Deposited at the Ministry of Interior.
Undated but late 19th century.
As can be seen in the photographs, the frame has some large damages: large parts chipped, scratches, and cracks. Some small pieces could fall during transport.
The colour of the metal is not even. It has black marks.
Loop at the back to hang.
When moved, we can hear some noise coming form behind the metal... it might be from some broken parts of frame?
