A very unusual and stunning find! 
This is a framed bas relief depicting The Parable of the Ten Virgins (five wise and five foolish) - Saint Matthew (25, 1-13).
Relief in metal with copper patina  by F. Lavastre (signature at the front and back).
A sheet of paper at the back with the parable hand written in French.  It has some marks.
Inspired by Johann Friedrich Overbeck's work. 
Deposited at the Ministry of Interior.
Undated but late 19th century.
As can be seen in the photographs, the frame has some large damages: large parts chipped, scratches, marks and cracks. Some small pieces could fall during transport. The varnish is worn in places.
The colour of the metal is not even. It has black marks, scratches and imperfections.
Loop at the back to hang.
When moved, we can hear some noise behind the metal... it might be from some broken parts of frame.

- I aim to post everything in 3 working days. Everything is sent with a tracking number.
Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- A part of the shipping price includes recycling taxes and packaging material.
Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- If there is anything you are unsure about or if you need further information about an item to re-assure you please ask before buying. I aim to provide as much information as possible and make my listings as accurate as I can.

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.

- Refunds will be issued when I get the item back.
