Beautiful French antique Holy water font made of Paris porcelain in the late 1800s. It was meant to be placed on a bedside table or to travel with. This is a much larger model than the ones I usually have.
This is an usual design.
The statue of the Virgin Mary is not glazed. It has some small stains and dicolouration.
Small chips. Black dots and tiny cracks as is common on antique porcelain pieces.
The top was broken off.
Marks and traces of use in the recipient.
This table font would make a perfect first communion gift but is also a highly collectable antique in its own right! It is rare to find that sort of font in such a large size.
Height 16 cm / 6.29 inches
Maximum width 9.7 cm / 3.54 inches
