Beautiful altar crucifix made of carved animal bone and ebonized wood in the 18th or 19th century.
The figure of Christ has been carved from one piece of bone.
Skull and crossed bones are at the bottom. The bones are moving around the nail freely.
The piece of bone at the top to represent the INRI inscription is missing.
There are some scuffing, stains, chips and wear to the wood as well as natural discoloration to the figure.
One hand is broken.
Several small insect holes (the insects are long gone).
