Rare promotional illustrated booklet published for the release in France of the Portuguese and Spanish film 'Ines de Castro'. The French title is 'La reine morte' as seen on the cover.

This in an extremely rare booklet and I couldn't find any other copy or information about it.
The film was directed by José Leitão de Barros and was released in 1944. The booklet is dated from 1947.
The story was inspired by a poem by Afonso Lopes Vieira.
Dom Pedro, the son of the King of Portugal, has to marry Constanca, a Castilian princess. He falls in love with her maid Ines. When Constanca dies, Dom pedro wants to be with Ines against his father's will...
Antonio Vilar plays Dom Pedro and Alicia Palacios plays Ines. 
María Dolores Pradera is Constanca.
This booklet was published for the release of the film and has some details about the cast and crew but it doesn't show any images from the film. There are some beautiful illustrations instead to accompany the text.
There are signs of age and use as can be seen in some photographs.
The beautiful embossed cover has some stains, small damages at the edges and dents.
The inside pages have some stains from the illustrations it seems (same dark pink / purple colour).
The paper has discoloured and has some small imperfections.
Binding with two staples that are now rusty and a string.
Small scratches and stains at the back.

Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.
