Stunning French antique cross made of lemon tree wood and what appears to be ivory.
Name at the back E. Hardy and the date 1892.

Scallop shells at the bottom of the cross.
Decoration at each ends of the cross. One is missing, the others have marks.
The white halo has discoloured to a very dark shade.
Corpus Christi in metal.

The cross is on a beautiful base with a flaming heart and star (one star is missing on one side).
One big chip at the back.

The whole object is very heavy (almost 2kg) as the base is filled with lead.
The bottom is not attached so you will need to be careful when picking up the crucifix.
Some large breaks on the bottom part as can be seen in the photos.

This is a truly magnificent piece!
Height: 17" / 43cm
