Antique religious painting of a cross with flowers and the words in Latin ' in cruce salus'.
Signed and dated 1906.
A text in French is attached at the back. The painter explains that this piece was 'offered to my brother, the abbott Claudius Gaulthier, on his feast day the 6th June 1906, by myself, an expelled Dominican, Mr Augustin Gaulthier. Bellicose, in the house of our father a retired teacher.'
Damaged especially at the bottom where the paint is flaking. There are also some scratches, stains and small holes.
