A rare representation of the child Jesus. Mid 20th century.

He is holding an open Bible. The writing says in French: 'Si vous m'aimez, imitez moi' (If you love me, imitate me). When looking closely at the pages, the text was just engraved. I think a previous owner painted the red glossy paint. The red letters don't quite match the engraved ones.

His three fingers are raised.

Painted plaster that has discoloured with age. Some imperfections such as stains or scratches are visible. One very small chip at the wrist and one on a toe.

Stamps at the back of the base. I can only read PP and see a star. That was a common stamp at the back of statues made in France

Height: 22.3 cm / 8.66 inches

The pictures are part of the description.
