Antique painting of a Christian procession in Brittany,  France. That type of procession is called a 'pardon'.
A pardon is a form of pilgrimage mainly found in Brittany. A pardon is organised on a fixed recurring date, in a specific place and is dedicated to a specific saint. The pardon includes a mass and an outdoor procession to a sacred place following a determined route.
The pilgrims are dressed in traditional Breton costumes. Approximately 1200 pardons are celebrated each year in Brittany.
Here, 5 ladies are depicted in tradional costume on a very grey day. One is holding a procession banner. They are walking in the grass and between rocks (menhirs).
The painting is very worn at the edges. It must have been removed from a frame judging by the shape of the damage.
Some stains and scratches are visible. The paint is cracking in places.
Signed but i can't quite read the name as it has faded.

- I aim to post everything in 3 working days. Everything is sent with a tracking number.
Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- I will only ship to the address provided during checkout. I won't post to an address sent in a separate message after a purchase.

- A part of the shipping price includes recycling taxes and packaging material.
Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- If there is anything you are unsure about or if you need further information about an item to re-assure you please ask before buying. I aim to provide as much information as possible and make my listings as accurate as I can.

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.

- Refunds will be issued when I get the item back.
