Antique brown painted plaster statue of Our Lady of Grace stepping on the serpent.
A medal depicting St Benedict was attached to the base by a previous owner. It is written in Latin all around his effigy: BENEDICTUS, MONACHORUM PATRIARCHA - PAX which translates as BENEDICT, PATRIARCH OF THE MONKS - PEACESeveral chips (one larger above a hand) and small holes.
The colour has faded in places and is gone in others. There is some wear too so the shine is sometimes gone and the colour has changed. It all gives the statue a beautiful patina and distressed look!
The base is very worn at the back especially and the paint is gone.It is a beautiful and unusual piece.
