'N-D de Fourvières' is written on the metal base (Note that we don't write Fourvière with an s at the end anymore).
The golden statue was inaugurated in Lyon in the mid-19th century. It was placed at the top of the Fourvière church bell tower and the celebrations took place on the 8th December 1852. This was the origin of the festival of lights organized in Lyon every year on that date.
The orginal statue was designed by Joseph-Hugues Fabisch and is 5.60 meters / 18 feet tall.

The gold paint has faded and gone darker so it doesn't really look gold anymore. It is missing in small places and reveals a copper colour underneath (visible on one cheek and crown).
The wooden base has some large breaks and chips. The shine is gone and the wood is very dry.
There is a screw underneath to keep the statue and base together.
Imperfections commensurate with age and use on the metal and wood (stains, loss of shine, scratches, etc).

Everything will be shipped with an invoice and the proper HS custom number but I can't guarantee US customs won't change the tariff.

- I aim to post everything in 3 working days. Everything is sent with a tracking number.
Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- I will only ship to the address provided during checkout. I won't post to an address sent in a separate message after a purchase.

- A part of the shipping price includes recycling taxes and packaging material.
Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- If there is anything you are unsure about or if you need further information about an item to re-assure you please ask before buying. I aim to provide as much information as possible and make my listings as accurate as I can.

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.

- Refunds will be issued when I get the item back.
