Antique white onyx crucifix with enameled bronze metal cross and Holy water font.
The enamel work is beautiful. The Imacculate Heart of Mary with seven swords and three white flowers is represented in the centre. This is not a common design on such a cross.
The rest of the cross is beautiful with a very ornate floral design.
The enamel is damaged on the font. The enamel is missing from two small pannels around the recipient.
The metal shows some signs of age and use. The gilt has gone in places and lost its shine. The inside of the recipient has marks left by water as seen in one photograph.
The whole cross must have fallen at some point. There is a large break visible (it was repaired), one large chip at the back and some smaller chips at the front.
The cross is slightly translucent. It has some small scratches and marks. Some white marks all around the metal cross.
It is a beautiful object despite its imperfections with a very unusual design!
There is a strong metal loop at the back so it is ready to hang on the wall!
