Beautiful piece of needlework. It depicts St Peter walking on water.
Dated 1862.
The text translation is 'Made by Miss Rosine Courlat in the year 1862. St Peter walking on water'.
The letters are made of black thread and metal beads.
The face and hands are painted velvet cutouts.
The canvas edges are a bit damaged.
The whole canvas has discoloured and is stained as shown in the pictures..
