Rare antique ciborium cover made of embroidered pannels with gold fringes.
Early 20th century.
The material has some large light stains caused by a liquid it seems.
Some smaller stains and yellow discolouration.
Beautiful and delicate embroidery. Some stitches are missing in some places on the embroidery and around the panels.
Some ink lines are sometimes visible under the embroidery (design for the stitching). Some lines have transformed in light stains because of the liquid mentioned before.
Imperfections on the gold metallic fringe (small part missing here and there, pulled thread).
It is a beautiful piece despite its imperfections!
Size of one pannel including the fringe: approx. 22.5 x 8.5 cm / 8.66 x 3.14 inches.
