Incredible carved crucifix! Carved in wood, the crucifix stands on a large pedestal with a depiction of the serpent at the bottom and is surrounded by vine leaves. The vine symbolizes Christ and Spiritual good but also all the children of God.
The wood has been given a red-brown mahogany stain. At the base of the cross vertical is a small 'pit' in the wood where a devotional object or reliquary can be placed. There is a small hole at the back of the pedestal so the whole thing can be attached to the wall firmly and a little one at the base of the cross.
There are no  chips I can see though being a hand made object, it has a number of imperfections from its maker. There is the occasional scratch to the varnish.
