Antique Our Lady of la Salette hand painted bisque porcelain statue. 
It depicts the apparition of Mary to two children in 1846 in La Salette-Fallavaux, France. 
This is an unusual depiction of the La Salette apparition because of her clothing. It is one I have rarely seen.
Mary has two tears under one eye. 
Mary is shown with the cross and tools of passion as usual but she is not wearing her usual headpiece. She is wearing instead a cloth and a big crown of flowers. 
Her robe is decorated with hand painted flowers.
The two little sheperds are represented facing her as usual. They are also wearing clothes with a floral pattern. Some lambs are around them.
There are imperfections from age and use.
There is a crack at the back of the neck of Mary. Her head still holds firmly.
Other fine lines are visible here and there. This is completely normal with old bisque porcelain pieces.
The paint has faded in places and there are some stains and marks.
Discolouration in places.
The paint is not always applied perfectly. A lamb has some paint marks for instance.
This is a very beautiful and rare statue of the marian apparition in La Salette.
