Beautiful and unusual French antique crucifix with small Holy water font. 
There is the Parisian shop label still attached at the back. It says 'E. Gérard éditeur. 10 rue du vieux colombier, Paris'
A metal crucifix signed S.H is attached to a brown velvet background. The crucifix has one cherub at each end.
The whole piece has an embossed leather border.
A small glass receptacle is attached at the bottom. 
It's all mounted on wood and there is a black card backing.
This crucifix dates from the late 19th or very early 20th century and shows signs of age as seen in the photographs.
The silver metal has darkened with age and has some scratches.
The pile of the velvet is very worn or gone in large places.
The leather has discoloured in places and some pieces are missing. It is also stained. The leather became dry with time and is worn or cracked. The inside edge is a bit damaged.
The wood is broken in two places.
Loop at the back so it can be hung immediately.
The backing is getting unstuck in places.
This is an unusual piece with a great patina but will require a bit of care.

Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- A part of the shipping price includes recycling taxes and packaging material.
Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- If there is anything you are unsure about or if you need further information about an item to re-assure you please ask before buying. I aim to provide as much information as possible and make my listings as accurate as I can.

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.

- Refunds will be issued when I get the item back.
