French antique medals / medallions fabric covered display card for shop or travelling salesman.
First half of the 20th Century.
Would look fantastic framed on a wall.

This specific card has 10 embossed metal medallions that are usually placed on another object such as a Holy water font.

Most of them are very unusual and not found often!

- Notre Dame de la Garde with the city of Marseille as a background
- St Germaine Cousin who is celebrated on 15th June.
- Saint George and the dragon
- 2 St Joseph and infant Jesus
- The basilica of Lourdes, the Marian apparition to Bernadette.
- St Jeanne Françoise de Chantal who founded the religious Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary.
- two other representations of Our Lady

Some medallions are signed. The two- coloured ones are very unusual.

Traces of time and use on the metal as can be seen in the photographs.
I have lightly dusted the cards as the medallions are just glued to the material. I didn't attempt any polishing.
The material that covers the card has marks and its colour has faded.

Very unusual object that would really look great in a box frame! I have several other cards in my shop so look at my other listings!
