French antique Holy prayer card depicting Jesus with his crown of thorns looking up and holding a Chalice behind prison bars. He has bread next to him and two birds are visiting him.
The text in French translates as 'In the Blessed prison of the Sanctuary, here is the best friend! ... Ask him for the Bread of Eternal Life!'
Text at the back is a long prayer 'O' Jesus be a prisonner of my Heart' and describes a happy day when Jesus comes back to Earth and penetrates 'the Soul of his creations'. 'Remain a prisoner of your humble creation'.
A small handwritten note on the side indicates it was given as a souvenir on the 8th August 1891.
Finely cut paper all around.
Small stains, discolouration and imperfections commensurate with age and use.
Small damages to the border and folds. Some small parts are missing.
