Early 1900s Hungarian women's bodice jacket. This is truly a museum piece!

The color was originally black or very deep brown, but has faded in sunlight over time. Short bodice shape with a flare below the waist. Wide upper arms, narrow at cuff. Unusual built-in stiffened ruffling to the flare at the back- over 6"/15cm deep!

Exterior is soft shiny satin cotton, decorated with applied ribbon and beading. Closure is through three metal hooks just under the bustline. Buttons on the exterior are purely decorative. Two buttons are missing as is one internal metal hook.

Interior is soft blue cotton. Heavily lined in what seems to be wool. At the cuffs and under some the of the fraying we can see different colour patches of cotton used..

This is an antique piece so some aging should be expected. Some areas look as if they have been patched. As pictures show, the fabric is fraying in areas. The metal has surface oxidation. The item is unlaundered. Sunfade affects at least one whole arm.
