French antique crucifixion bottle with tools of Passion.
Usually called a Passion Bottle or Calvary Bottle this is a folk art depiction of the crucifixion which took someone, usually a sailor, time and patience to complete! 
It shows the Instruments of Passion. We can see the Crucifix, the Ladder, Spear of Destiny, etc.... 
There are two small figures of Mary at the feet of the cross. One is probably meant to depict Mary Magdalene or St John.
Carved and painted wood, thin embossed metal and moss. 
As is frequent with those bottles, some objects went loose. This is the case of a Mary at the bottom of the cross. One part of the sunburst has fallen and is now stuck at the back.
Jesus has one arm broken and the crucifix is not straight (it goes forward).
The glass has natural flaws and is very thick. Marks inside.
The cork is still firm and we have made no attempt to remove it.
