Antique 5 decade rosary with wood and mother of pearl cross pendant. I had never found such a piece. It is very early, has damages but is unique and stunning!
The wooden cross had a layer of black texture that is partially gone. Some mother of pearl crosses and details all around. Some are missing as seen in the photographs.
The beautiful heart is made of silver metal and has been distorted.
The beads are very interesting and unusual. They seem to be made of nut. It could be boxwood too but nut seem more likely to me. They have stains, small cracks and chips and are irregulars. They feel very different from the wood rosaries I have found before.
The set of beads is complete (59).
This is a very old piece and it has signs of age. It is magnificent despite the imperfections!
