Beautiful pair of vases in copper made by Leroussel in Villedieu (Normandy) as written underneath. Villedieu is a town famous for its copper artisans.
First half of the 20th century.
Large crown of thorns with the Sacred Heart in the centre of each vase.
Beautiful handles with a flower. They are gold coloured and are a different metal. 
One flower is missing on each side of one handle. There is a small break on the same handle on the bottom part where the handle meets the vase. It makes that handle fragile.
The vases have tarnished and darkened at the bottom and towards the top mostly. There are many dark marks has seen in the photographs.
They have been heavily used and probably badly stored so there are imperfections.
There are large stains, marks, scratches, small damages and dents (one of them is quite large as seen in a photograph). 
Small corrosion spots underneath. 
Green marks on the handles.
Metal vase that can be removed at the top of each copper vase. Rust marks but no hole or crack I can see.
