Beautiful high glaze enamel on copper painting by Georges Papault. It was made between 1926 and 1928 in Limoges, France.
The painting of Jesus is in full colour on a black background. He is depicted with a thin gold halo. You can see the copper underneath in his hair.
Around Jesus' head, in direct light, you can see a dark mark on the black background, caused by the firing or glazing process.
The enamel pannel sits in an imitation mahoganny frame which has several chips (mostly at the edges)
There is a small loop at the back so the frame can be hung immediately.
A label with the artist name and technique used is glued behind the frame.
Size of frame: 7x 7.75" or 18x20cm thichness 2" or 5cm
Size of enamel painting 2.5x3.25" or 6.5x8.5cm
