French antique chromolithograph printed by L. Turgis & sons in Paris. Napoleon III black frame.
Station of the cross VI: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus. I have 13 stations of the way of the cross. Sadly number XII was missing so I sell them separately. It seemed they have been stored in an attic for a long time: - the cross on top of each frame has been broken - the frames have large chips, marks and scratches. Occasional insect holes but the insects are long gone. - I have done a big cleaning job but the backs are still a bit dusty. Paper backing has been damaged. - 3 loops to hang (one at the bottom is not used) but the string is broken on some of them. - Paper has distorted slightly in some frames.
The chromos are beautiful with very little damage. Occasional mark or stain but nothing too large. The signature of the printer is not always visible (sometimes it is printed under the frame) Look at the photographs carefully as they are part of the description.
I find them stunning as they are but you could also repair and clean them a bit more.
