A very large antique French Crucifix. Made of wood, ormolu, metal and velvet in an ornate late 19th Style!
The crucifix is mounted on a base covered with red velvet with a small holy water font at the bottom. The crucifix itself is made of wood and fixed to the base with with decorative fittings at the ends. The Corpus is metal which has been painted the same brass/gold colour.
This is over 100 years and shows signs of age- some the velvet pile has worn in places and there are signs of surface discoloration to the metal. The paint on the corpus has worn. However the fittings are all solid and this is still is in highly collectible condition and would also make a great addition to any home! There is a ring to the back so it can be wall-hung immediately.
