Antique catholic Priest's cloak and chasuble, sourced from France.
Gold and red in color, this decorated cape is usually called a cope and used in processions and sacrament outside the Mass.
The back of the cloak has a large IHS Christogram decorated with sequins and with a pink flower decoration. Around the neck the edges have deteriorated with age and use. Over time there is a little sunfade and accumulated dust.
The cape fixes at the chest with a single metal clasp. The interior is cotton which is now dark pink in color. There are some damaged areas, repairs and some fading with age.
The chasuble has some stains as can be seen in the photographs.
