Antique Saint Joseph and Infant Jesus polychrome plaster statue.
It is not a depiction I find often. Jesus is holding a gold cross and he seems to hand Joseph his crown of thorns. Joseph is holding a stalk of lilies against his chest with one hand. His other hand is behind Jesus' shoulder. It is a beautiful scene.
The statue has some imperfections commensurate with age.
The colours have discoloured and faded so they are not even. The paint is missing in small parts.
There are stains, scratches and chips. Irregularities in the plaster.
I have dusted the statue but not attempted any further cleaning as the paint layer is fragile. It must have been left on display for a long time and the dust has left marks.
Height 33.1 cm / 12.99 inches
The pictures are part of the description.
