Extremely rare antique religious ombrellino used during Catholic processions to shelter the Blessed Sacrament, the Pope, a cardinal, a bishop or certain high dignitaries of the Church.
Late 19th / early 20th century.
Made of cream silk, gold cannetilles and gold ribbon. The inside is made of white cotton.

Signs of age and use.
Small marks and stains on the silk. Several small holes at the bottom but nothing too serious.
It is in beautiful condition for its age!
The ribbon is unstitched in one place as can be seen in the photographs.
Discolouration and small rust stains inside.

Wood stem with metal details. That part is were the signs of use are the most obvious.
The mechanism works well.

Length when closed: 94 cm / 37 inches
