Beautiful and rare French antique Penitent Magdalene embroidered print. 

The print was published by Basset, Paris France. Basset was manufacturing wallpaper as well.
The writing at the bottom is fading but says: "A Paris chez Basset, Md d'Estampes et Fabricant de Papiers peints, rue St Jacques, au coin de celle des Mathurins, N° 64".
This address with n°64 indicates it's from the very early 1800s.

The embroidery was probably done by a previous owner and not the publisher. I couldn't find anything like it from them. That makes this object very unique!
The thread used is thick and has a luster to it. Some slight fraying to the thread.
The paper underneath has some creases and is worn in parts. Some needle holes visible.

The gold frame has some chips as can be seen in the photograph and is more recent.
