French antique pair of Rebus dessert plates.

Stamped "Gien, Geoffroy de Boulen & Cie". Dating from the 1840s according to the stamp.
These plates were used so guests could play at the end of their meal. On each plate you have to guess one French saying (proverb).
The answer to the puzzle is marked at the back of each plate.

They have been used so have scratches and stains as can be seen in the photographs..

These are highly collectible!
