Beautiful antique dark brown velvet flapper straight dress.
1920s.
Layered at the chest. Fairly wide waistband.
Two layers of fabric below the waist. Top layer is gathered at the front and cut shorter at the sides.
Silk covered buttons at each cuff.
Two small weights are stitched at the waist (at the back). That could be removed if needed.
Armpit pads were torn and filled with tiny brown chips. Most of them have gone now.

Aging marks:
- Some wear to the velvet.
- The pile is gone in places, especially on one sleeve (because of a handbag) and at the armpits.
- Some scuff marks, some look like burn marks maybe.
- Slight discolouration or fade in places so the colour doesn't appear completely even.
- 2 or 3 pin holes at the back. One small round hole with light stain around too.
I might have missed tiny imperfections.

Meaurements taken laid flat:
Armpit to armpit: 61 cm / 24"
Shoulder seam to shoulder seam : approx. 40 cm / 15.74"
Width at waistband: 56 cm / 22"
Sleeve, shoulder to cuff: 57 cm / 22.44"
Total length down the back 108 cm / 42.51"

A beautiful dress that could easily be worn today!
