Because of restrictions on insect specimen imports in certain countries, I only ship these boxes within the EU.
 
Amazing antique box of mounted moths / butterflies. Perfect for a lepidopterology and entomology enthusiast!
The box is made of wood with a glass cover.
The moths are pinned, not glued, to proper mounting board at the base.
 
Some of the moths /butterflies have name tags.
Most of them are undated but some also have dates which range from the 1945 to 1974. We are not expert enough to know if names match the butterflies.
 
The box is marked at the back "Etablissement Deyrolle, 46 rue du Bac, Paris", the Paris Natural Science store famous for entomology and taxidermy.  
Deyrolle was created in 1831 and Emile Deyrolle took over in 1866.  In 1888 they moved to their current location in Rue du Bac. 
The box has some wear at the edges around the glass and some scuffs to the brown surface. The glass is firm and uncracked. The paper is damaged in places as seen in the photographs.
 
The moths /butterflies seem to have all been mounted properly.
Condition of the individual insects themselves varies but as far as we can tell they seem broadly in good condition, though we would not expect all to have full sets of limbs or antennae.
Please note that many of the butterflies were pinned in the 1940s so the pin or body parts may fall in transit to you.
 
This is must for collectors as well as anyone with an interest in natural history!

- For US CUSTOMERS: the new tariff is added at the checkout under the name 'Sales tax'. IF YOU ARE BUYING AS A RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION, MESSAGE ME AS YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE TO PAY IT.
Everything will be shipped with an invoice and the proper HS custom number but I can't guarantee US customs won't change the tariff.

- I aim to post everything in 3 working days. Everything is sent with a tracking number.
Parcels will require a signature at the time of delivery.

- I will only ship to the address provided during checkout. I won't post to an address sent in a separate message after a purchase.

- A part of the shipping price includes recycling taxes and packaging material.
Everything is packaged safely sometimes using recycled materials.

- I can’t predict how long Customs may hold on to items for inspection.

- If a parcel arrives damaged, it is the buyer's responsibility to file a complaint immediately with the delivery service. Any insurance is void unless this is done at delivery time.


RETURNS AND REFUNDS

- If there is anything you are unsure about or if you need further information about an item to re-assure you please ask before buying. I aim to provide as much information as possible and make my listings as accurate as I can.

- I accept returns only if the buyer contacts me within 2 weeks of delivery. Only the item price can be refunded. Postage costs will not be refunded.
If a returned item is received damaged the loss in value will be deducted.

- Refunds will be issued when I get the item back.
