French antique silk brocade (soie brochée) waistcoat.
1840s.
Beautiful silk brocade waistcoat / vest.
Front is burgundy with blue flowers. Back is blue linen.
Lapels are pinned back.
Double breasted closure 5x2. 4 buttons missing.
The fabric is lustrous.
The trim is black and very worn.
Several patches of wear especially at the sides and around the collar. Please see photos.
The back material has some wear holes and discolouration also shown in the pictures.
