Antique wax sealed reliquary from France for four saints: St Chantal, St Blandine, St Colombe and St Claire. The relic for St Chantal seems to be a piece of cloth. The rest is not easy to tell. It seems to be small pieces of soil / little stones glued together. They are on small pieces of paper attached to a dark pink material (faded from red).
The medallion is made of very light embossed sheet metal. The Virgin Mary is depicted at the back. It was originally painted gold but the colour has completely faded from the front.
It is made of two parts that open very easily (too easily maybe). They are both attached to a loop though so no risk of loosing one.
Wax seal with a shield but no writing.
On a chain with a small medal from Lourdes. If you wanted to wear it, I would advise to change the clasp.
Late 19th century. Marks and imperfections commensurate with age and use.

Total length of chain: 46 cm / 18.11 inches
