Antique French set of 4 plates. New testament illustrations.

Black transferware produced by Creil et Montereau in the late 1800s. The stamp was in use only until 1876. It lists the gold medals awarded to Creil et Montereau (1834, 1839, 1844, 1849) so these plates were produced between 1849 and 1876.

n°6 Jesus Christ et la Madeleine (Jesus and Magdalena)
n°7 Multiplication des pains (multiplication of the loaves)
n°8 Jesus Christ fait marcher St Pierre sur l'eau (Jesus makes St Peter walk on water)
n°10 La Vierge et Ste Madeleine au tombeau de Jesus Christ (The Virgin Mary and St Magadalena at the grave of Jesus).

Diameter: 19.5 cm / 7.67"

They all have marks, scratches and signs of use as can be seen in the photographs. Some discolouration and natural imperfections too.

Plate n°10 is darker than the others and seem unused.
