Antique French mourning frame for a son.
Early 20th Century.
'A mon fils' is painted at the reverse of the glass (it means 'To my son' in French). Some blue flowers and a border are also painted at the reverse.
The glass is approx. 1.5 cm (0.39") away from the images attached to a silver reflective surface.
The images of flowers and a bird delivering an envelope are made of paper.
There are no cracks to the glass I can see and it sits firmly within its metal frame.
the silver metal used for the frame is also used for the reflective back. Marks and imperfections to the surface. Light glue marks visible.
Some small dents and scratches to the metal frame.
There are some scratches to the paint on the glass.
Small loop at the top so it can be hung on the wall.
