Stunning large antique polychrome plaster statue of the Virgin Mary. The details and patina are beautiful.
Our Lady is depicted with her right hand on her chest and with her eyes open with a direct gaze. Her cape is pink and her robes are traditional blue.
The statue has a flat and unpainted back, reinforced with an iron bar.
It has an iron base so it is incredibly heavy (approx. 7.6 kilos) hence the postage price.
Marks and chips commensurate with age.
Carved at the back is a name: Augustine Forey, most probably the artist.
