Antique French black cape, early 20th Century. Hand made by St Jacques of Lille.

Made of black cotton lace. The weave pattern alternates between a fine tulle and more solid black panels. Decorated with a floral motif throughout.
Fringed with black lace ruffles. Simple standing collar.
The front has a simple button closure with original black fabric covered button and small hook to close at the neckline.
Worn over the shoulders with large decorative draped panels falling down the front. Shoulders are slightly puffed for comfort.
Hand stitched throughout.

Vintage item so some aging should be expected. A little fraying at ends, some imperfections to the lace.
Still in beautiful condition!
